Sorry I haven't posted in a long time, my head has been causing all sorts of issues. For those who don't know, I suffered what appeared to be a minor concussion back in May. However, I still randomly suffer from the symptoms pretty heavily at times.
iHero was original planned to be a game where the players role-played themselves (part of the reason for the name). That campaign has been shelved for now (and will be titled the Persona Project if we ever get to it). Long and the short, this is a campaign I've been working on on and off for some time. I really want to have it fleshed out but in the intrest of time, if you'll bare with me, we can take a more malleable approach, meaning some details about the game world may and will change. /ramble

Super-heroes exist pretty much in every form that exist in the comics. Players will begin play at the standard PL 10 for both ease of creation (tons of PL 10 templates exist) and simplicity. This means each character is a force unto their own.
As stated before, the public is blissfully unaware of super heroes. IF super heroes existed before the PCs they were very rare, and equally hidden. Well that's not fair, there were a handful of masked mystery men during the 70's and 80's. The most prominent was a group know as The Five. These individuals did not possess superhuman powers, but instead employed advanced combat techniques, superior schooling and intellect, and at times, nifty gadgets to bring the baddies to justice. The group dissolved after an international incident that the papers dubbed 'The War of the Immortals" which involved the death of two of their members.
Second Impact
Over the last several years two major meteorological events have occurred on the planet. They are named First and Second Impact. During First Impact three huge meteors slammed into Big City (the focal point of our adventure). Besides the massive property damage and loss of life in Big City, this caused repercussions all over the world. Tidal shift and all that, but they were mostly temporary. The feds hauled away the big glowing rock and life returned to normal. A few years later it happened again.
This time, meteors rained all over the planet, in various sizes. The space objects ran roughshod on the gravity of our planet and caused hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes etc. They also caused massive power outages, mostly from huge fluctuations in the EM spectrum. This event lasted for several days and claimed thousands of lives. But again, the effects were mostly temporary. After a few days power was restored (power loss from storms took much longer) and relief efforts won out.
But as they say, looks can be deceiving. Soon after, things got, weird. Lots of people got sick, the malady would eventually be labeled astronomical radiation poisoning. The kids started calling it the "Poison Cosmic" or PC for short. But, treatment was readily available, and while a few cases pop-up now and then, it has mostly been contained.
Then the tabloids lost their minds. All of a sudden all kinds of crazy crap was being reported, new urban legends were springing up. In this information age, they were spreading like wild fire. But, most of it was written off as YouTube stunts. Things, however, did indeed change. People eventually started developing super powered mutations. Some people are truly changed and take on horrible monstrous disfigurements. These people are often feared and ostracized by their friends and communities. Some people develop gifts and stay normal. They either choose to ignore them or hide them. Oh, and some people had gifts all a long, and after they came down with PC they could no longer contain them.
One thing that tends to be common is when people begin to discover their new found talents it's usually because they blew up the dentist office or knocked over a barn. This will eventually lead to them being called "crashers" (that and the fact that, you know, meteors). However, when our story starts, it has been five years since second impact, and the world is on the cusp of discovering its first true super-heroes.....
